Longer Days / Lighter Evenings began at the tail end of spring and the early days of summer, when greenery was in bloom and wild weeds seemed to be filling every crevice and inch they could find. This painting brings together fragments of weathered structures, surrounding landscape, and shifting daylight. Layers of color, shadow, and texture overlap and obscure one another, capturing the quiet tension between what was built and what is slowly growing around it—creating spaces that feel both recognizable and abstract, familiar but difficult to fully place.
For me, this work became a meditation on those small transitions we experience almost without noticing. The longer evenings. The changing landscape to the season. The places that remain familiar even as they slowly become something else.
